I wrote about Sweden’s leading designer “Ingegerd Råman” last time.
She is 75 years old this year, as I happened to have a chance to know a nice 70s over the last couple of days I introduce you two more as a nice 70s series.
About this time of the second person “Mrs. Kirin Kiki (Japanese actress)”. (Coincidentally the same age as Ingegerd Råman)
She has a great presence, unique and wonderful actress. I have also seen some of her films and introduced this blog (Mori, The Artist’s Habitat). Again, its unique presence and performance is overwhelmingly visible. I also love her recent film is “Sweet Beans”. Although I had read the original novel, and there was a my original thought for this book but when I saw the movie version I was moved a lot more than I had imagined. Her granddaughter Kyara was also great at this film.
Then “Mori, The Artist’s Habitat” also remains in the impression. The interaction with Mr. Tsutomu Yamazaki as Mori looks like a very natural and real couple, I remember the illusion that they still live somewhere in real world.
I have not seen it yet, but I am also looking forward to “Shoplifters“, and I’d like to see “Nichinichi kore kojitsu (not yet English title)” that will be released this autumn. (Since I read the original novle, the blog at that time is here)
I could not believe it because there were many films appearing in the year, she announced that she had cancer onset several years ago, and continued actively acting while fighting ill. The other day, I saw a documentary program that pursued Mrs. Kirin’s daily life since she was sick, but I feel that I could catch a glimpse of her living attitude.
I thought what kind of person is “compassionate” and “making” with Mrs. Kirin.
I thought from the interaction with the three people who remained in the impression during the program,
1. Against hair-make-up artist
She answered the hair-make-up artist strongly “Do as you wish, do not ask me, do as you please” against the question “What do you think is good?” in a scene where she set up a hairstyle for movie shooting. Then, she added with a gentle look “It will be alright, I will not let you take responsibility” when the air became tangy a little.
2. Against actress Miyoko Asada
When she considerably reduced the work of the actress, she did her first film production work. She decided Miyoko Asada who has a longtime relationship as its leading role as Mrs. Asada because “I wanted to make a representative work for that woman”.
3. Against this documentary TV program director
While closely adhering for several years and pursuing daily life, Mrs. Kirin’s condition was gradually getting worse, and irritation gradually began to pick up. The interaction with the director gradually got anger, “What will happen to you when you shoot like this? What kind of thing do you want to take? What is this meaning for programs that do not have such an eye-catcher item?” although the director also talked about everything about his family and so on and it seemed like a deep relationship with a genuine glimpse of a real intention.
Later, after several months passed, Mrs. Kirin contacted him, and shooting of the program began. Mrs. Kirin met for the first time in a while and showed an X-ray picture, “I’m transferring cancer to the bones,” she let the director know how the cancer has spread throughout the body. And she said that “Now there is an eye-catcher item.”
…Through this interaction, “How can I serve this person?” or “How can I make a good work?” in that way, she always thought about her opponent’s position and thinking only about making a “good work”. It seems to be looking with eyes that it is part of the work herself, I also seemed to have a part that she looked objectively calmly about herself.
And there were strengths that both good and bad points admit herself to all, affectionate, straight person without lies and no falsehoods. At the end of the program, the shooting scenery of the German film that became a historical record was broadcasted, and the appearance of happiness on the side of the sunny lot was very very beautiful. I would like to see this movie also.
I pray for your souls. Thank you very much Mrs. Kirin Kiki. RIP.
