The rule of 0・1・2

2018-05-28 by youseeaandiseeb No Comments

Today is about a rule that I remember when I start something new, get to know new people or go to a new shop.

I was taught by a copywriter of a company I worked in before, it is called “The rule of 0・1・2”.
The numbers mean the number of times to contact something new, and it is like this:
0・1・23456789…

For example, about “Hina Cafe”.
0 ← You don’t know the cafe
1 ← You know the cafe and went
2 ← You went there again

3456789… Nearly no difference between 2 and 3

Do you understand what I mean?

Fantastic Planet

fantastic planet
2018-05-26 by youseeaandiseeb No Comments

Today is about just what I came up with, I think you can read it lightly 🙂

Is there anything you pop into your mind in your daily life? I often come with images (visuals), but some people may be sounds or smells.

For example, One scene from the movie “Fantastic Planet” comes to mind when I feel everything is going well, feeling alive, the weather is great, thank you for everything etc.

It is an animation movie, a 1973 animated science fiction film directed by René Laloux. The movie is known to those in the know, it is the legend movie. It is also said that the animation film director Hayao Miyazaki was influenced by this movie.

I saw it in the picture theory class at the university, it is famous as its creative and strange visuals and surreal and striking stories, also can not be forgotten once it is seen.

World Gift

world gift

It’s almost June, so the sign of summer has been coming. It feels still chilly in the morning and evening in Tokyo, but it is almost time to change clothes from Spring to Summer.

I reconsider clothes when the season changes, and I try to donate clothes that I no longer wear.

Recently, collection boxes are placed for recycling at clothing stores. That is nice idea, also I recommend the organization “World Gift Japan“.

We are always accepting partners from all over the world.
We are collecting variety supplies like stationaries, clothes, school bags, dolls, toys, everyday items and sanitary products to donate all the time to the following facilities.
devastated areas, poor neighborhoods, schools, facilities for handicapped people, hospitals, police departments, communities, support groups of disaster, animal shelters
We are always accepting partners from all over the world.

ー fromWorld Gift Japan website

As the above message, they accept not only clothes but also daily stuff. I check my daily stuff when the season changes as well as clothes, and send them to World Gift Japan. It is about three years since I started this custom, why I started this was I visited to Nepal at work.

Breathe In & Out

Breathe In & Out
2018-05-12 by youseeaandiseeb No Comments

Not be trapped in the past that has already gone and not feel anxious for future that has not come yet. Put your awareness on your breathing, and aware of you have been already happy and rich. Focus on your breaths and feel present…

Recently practices such as mindfulness, breathing, zazen, meditation or yoga are getting popular to live yourself. I have tried to do some of them (in progress).

The basic steps are breathe in abdominally (consciousness of the inner part of the lower abdomen, just beneath the navel), breathe in and breathe out. I could do this longer when I am in good condition but not all the time, otherwise I am dominated by thinking. I have been trying to do some practices to keep good feeling longer, and I met good method of Thich Nhat Hanh.

MORNING RELAY

dawn

“MORNING RELAY”  – Shuntaro Tanikawa
While a young man in Kamchatka
Dreams of a giraffe
A young girl in Mexico
Waits for the bus in the morning haze
While a little girl in New York
Rolls over in her bed with a smile
A little boy in Rome
Winks at the morning sun that colors the column capital
On this Earth
Always, somewhere, morning is starting
We are relaying mornings
From longitude to longitude
Taking turns protecting Earth, as it were
Pick up your ears awhile before you go to sleep
And somewhere, far away, you’ll hear an alarm clock ringing
It’s proof that someone has firmly caught
The morning you’ve passed on

This is a famous Japanese poet Shuntaro Tanikawa’s poetry.

As a Designer, thought for designers

2018-04-26 by youseeaandiseeb No Comments

I have worked for over fifteen years as a graphic and digital designer, and I still LOVE to design.

Maybe people think that “design” is act of making visual things (surface decoration) mainly, but the word includes a wide range of activities such as planning, making plans, concept working, making structure.

In actual projects, I spend 70-80% of time on “researching or thinking”, and the rest of 20-30% of time is for “making something visible” with Mac.  (I think most of people think this one is “design”.)

I think that going to book shops or museums, going on a journey if needed, even taking walk is even wonderful part of job, because these are all researching or thinking act. There is always a project in the head, and it seems that the directions is decided through various experiences.

You See A and I See B

2018-04-12 by youseeaandiseeb No Comments

This world where we live is always neutral.
Nature, animals, plants and human beings as well. Just the way they are, just being.

And, the world what I see is only real and it is only one thing, and I believe that the other people see the same as I see. However, there are as many worlds as people. It’s all different.

It is fun to feel empathy for “same”, but also it is rich experiences to know the “differences”.

I see the world that it is A, and how do you see it? Wow, you see so, interesting!

Knowing other people’s world broadens your world.  I would like to make this blog will give something positive in your life by sharing “differences”.

You See A and I See B.
